Coming soon…a video exploring portrait painting, the process, some behind the scenes and interesting history. For now this will have to do.

Each of the portraits on this page have resulted from a commission (when a client hires an artist, in this case me- to create a work of art on their behalf). Each client has a unique reason for wanting a portrait of their loved one. Some wish to remember a fleeting moment in time, such as infancy, or a loved one who has passed, or to help a young person view themselves with fresh eyes and feel more confident.

Every client, every subject in my paintings has a special story. Telling that story is a process, often involving a lengthy consultation to uncover the full meaning of the portrait.
